Giants Again Applying Franchise Tag To Jason Pierre-Paul

The Giants reportedly have applied the franchise tag to Jason Pierre-Paul with the two sides not close on a new contract. They later signed him to a one-year deal that season, and again last year.

But after JPP lost part of his right hand in a Fourth of July fireworks accident that summer, the Giants pulled the long-term offer, and he played on the one-year deal. If no deal is worked out by then, Pierre-Paul could only play under the tag or a one-year contract.

However, until a deal is struck, the $17 million hit remains on the cap, and the Giants would need the extra space next week, not in mid-July, in order for it to have the most impact on this year's free agent crop.

ESPN's Adam Schefter reported, however, that the Giants are trying to reach a long-term deal with the standout pass rusher by Wednesday.

Now, the Giants can negotiate with Pierre-Paul without worrying about another team scooping him up.

ASUS Zenfone Live with real time beautification features announced
The main camera of the affordable device might have a 5MP front camera and a 13MP camera with LED flash. Also, the Asus ZenFone 3 Go might be equipped with a five-magnet speaker coupled with smart amp.

The move makes sense for the Giants, even if Pierre-Paul won't be happy with it. Pierre-Paul had seven sacks in 12 games last season and looked great at times. "There is not really another guy like me out here doing it with 7½ fingers still".

"I've done proved it", Pierre-Paul said, per NFL Network's Mike Garafolo.

The Giants had also used the tag on Pierre-Paul in 2015, before his fireworks accident.

The Giants want their star defensive end, but at their price, and Pierre-Paul wants to get paid like one of the best defensive ends in the NFL.

The Giants, though, would certainly like to get a deal done by March 9 in order to have more cap room to pursue other free agents.
