Kremlin Says Putin and Trump Will Meet In July

Talking to reporters last Friday on Air Force One, Trump begged off questions about Flynn, saying he hadn't seen the reports about Flynn talking to the ambassador, but said he would "look into that".

Flynn resigned after it came to light that he discussed USA sanctions against Russia with the Russian ambassador in Washington before Trump became president, "and misled Vice President Mike Pence about the conversations", the agency said.

The possibilities of a face-to-face meeting between the presidents were discussed during the phone conversation on January 28.

Longstanding accusations from the USA intelligence community that Putin commanded Russian hacks on the Democrats during the election to help Trump, add another layer of controversy to their relationship.

Equally, during the campaign, the Kremlin denied Putin or his staff had ever contacted Trump, before boasting that they had contact with his campaign all along, shortly after Trump's election triumph.

When asked about it on Monday, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov told a conference call with reporters that Flynn and Kislyak had not discussed lifting sanctions on Moscow. "There are also no working deadlines (for it)".

Kremlin and Washington have many issues to talk over and agree upon in order to mend the U.S. - Russian ties, whilst the meeting between the leaders might take place only in July.
