Leaked! Xiaomi may eliminate home button from Mi 6

Great news to Xiaomi fans, especially those who have always been waiting to get their hands on the Xiaomi Mi Mix smartphone. It is clear that the company will take a cue from the lauded design of Mi MIX in the making of the Mi 6.

While the smartphone may not be debuting at the MWC, tech buffs will be pleased to learn that new images of the Xiaomi Mi 6 have now surfaced online, offering a peek into the impending handset.

Presuming the device is Mi 6, the device comes with a flat display and not a curved-edge one. Live renders of the phone show the phone without any physical home button and having a design which has symmetrical lines on the sides.

Xiaomi has been keeping quite a tight lid on its next-generation flagship smartphone, the Xiaomi Mi 6, as evident in the sheer lack of leaked images despite its rumored March release date. There is a high screen-to-body ratio as per the images which remind us of the screen ratio of the concept Mi Mix smartphone. It will not be showcased at the at the upcoming MWC 2017 as Xiaomi will skip the event this time around. The reason behind this is Xiaomi's lack of patents in the USA, which will expose the company to a number of infringement suits. It also has to be pointed out that there is a lot that is missing in the device that is shown, which begs the question if it is indeed authentic. The Mi MIX smartphone sports a 16-megapixel rear camera with PDAF, an f/2.0 aperture, and dual-tone LED flash. The phone functions on Android Marshmallow 6.0 with Xiaomi's own custom MIUI 8 on top of it. The first variant will be equipped with Helio X30 SoC and will carry a price tag of about 1,999 Yuan which is approximately Rs 19,757.
