
Russian Jets Buzz US Navy Destroyer in the Black Sea
On Feb. 10, the Navy destroyer USS Porter noted three "unsafe and unprofessional" encounters with Russian military aircraft while in the Black Sea.
The ship's commander described the actions as "unsafe and unprofessional", a US military spokesman said.
"Several incidents by multiple Russian aircraft in the Black Sea near the destroyer USS Porter (DDG 78) on February 10 were assessed by the ship's commanding officer as unsafe and unprofessional", Baldanza told Sputnik on Tuesday.
The Russian planes were flying with their IFF transponders turned off.
The latest fly-by comes as Trump is facing increasing pressure over his desire to improve relations with Russian Federation.
President Trump earlier this month said he respects Russian President Vladimir Putin and seemed to dismiss the former KGB officer's use of violence against political opponents. He's a leader of his country.
