Gru meets his long-lost twin brother Dru in the second trailer for Despicable Me 3. Originally, the focus was supposed to be on Balthazar Bratt, but the newest trailer barely mentions the villain, prompting fans to ask if the character will still have a major role in the film. This latest trailer reveals Gru's big family secret. Though we only get a brief look at the film's new villain, it's safe to say that Balthazar will serve as Gru's most formidable nemesis to date. Despicable Me 3, directed by Pierre Coffin and Kyle Balda, co-directed by Eric Guillon, and written by Cinco Paul & Ken Daurio, will be released in cinemas in summer 2017.

Dru is, in fact, the twin brother of Steve Carell's character.

Meanwhile, Despicable Me 3 also features the return of Kristen Wiig as Gru's newfound love interest Lucy, as well as his adorable little girls Margo (Miranda Cosgrove), Edith (Dana Gaier), Agnes (Nev Scharrel).
