Kirk Cousins tweets Tag! I'm it! on Twitter

The interesting dynamic here is that Cousins has been the subject of trade rumors, primarily linking him to his former offensive coordinator Kyle Shanahan and the San Francisco 49ers.

The Washington Redskins have placed the exclusive franchise tag on quarterback Kirk Cousins. And this time, they used the "exclusive" franchise tag, which means Cousins is not permitted to negotiate with any other National Football League team.

"I want to be where I'm wanted, and if they tag me, that tells you that you're wanted", Cousins told ESPN 980 (via the team's official release). Tagging Cousins gives the front office flexibility in free agency.

They have until July 15th to sign him to a long-term contract, and the organization should make an authentic effort in retaining Kirk Cousins.

So the one question still remains, if you are the Cleveland Browns, do you offer a trade to the Washington Redskins for Kirk Cousins? A third franchise tag would be prohibitive financially and because the Michigan State grad would be an unrestricted free agent (should he stay healthy and put in as good a year as he did the past two); the next contract he gets will be huge, if not record-breaking.

Passed under former President Barack Obama, the Clean Water Rule extends Clean Water Act protections to streams and wetlands. Farmers and ranchers care deeply about clean water, but this rule had significant flaws.

More threats against Jewish Community Centers across the nation
Don Beyer, D-8th, noted in a message on Twitter that the threats were "deeply disturbing and unacceptable". A bomb threat was called into the Asheville Jewish Community Center, according to Asheville Police Dept.

Just as the team did previous year, the Redskins tagged record-setting QB Kirk Cousins. He completed 67 percent of his passes for 4,917 yards, 25 touchdowns and 12 interceptions.

If a Cousins trade were to get done this spring, it would likely include (at least) a first-round pick.

The 49ers last negotiated a big trade involving a quarterback - Alex Smith in 2013 - at the NFL Scouting Combine in Indianapolis. "If Cousins won't take less, would the 49ers plunk down that much, plus send one or more draft picks to Washington to get a quarterback who will be able to run the Shanahan offense?"

Cousins had believed has proven his worth and was reportedly seeking a contract north of $100 million this offseason, before eventually being tagged by the Redskins today. But Cousins owns the leverage and, for his side, that warrants a deal more than what Washington has been willing to make.
