Newsmax CEO: Trump vows he'll be 'proven right' on wiretaps

Early this morning, President Donald Trump sent out a string of Tweets, alleging that President Barack Obama had wiretapped Trump Tower to undermine his campaign, and questioned the legality of such an action.

HollywoodLifers, what do you think of Trump's decision to investigate Obama's alleged wiretapping without any evidence the former president was eavesdropping on him? He said that nothing was found then exclaimed, "This is McCarthyism!". However, some conservative media outlets have been pushing these claims in recent days, which may be where Mr. Trump got his information.

But that wouldn't have been Obama ordering an apparent wiretapping on Trump Tower, a wiretapping for which there is no public evidence.

And the issue of whether Russian Federation interfered with the 2016 White House race appeared to start soon after Trump joined the GOP primary in July 2015 and suggested he liked Putin's strong leadership style, including what he considered Putin's ability to outmaneuver Obama.

Mr Trump's administration has come under pressure from the Federal Bureau of Investigation and congressional investigations into contacts between some members of his campaign team and Russian officials during the campaign period.

Some current and former intelligence officials cast doubt on Trump's assertion.

Most analysts now expect the Fed to push rates higher by another 0.25 per cent in March, following the hike in December. The question is whether the official who matters most - Chair Janet Yellen - will add her own voice to that impression.

Trump said the tweets.

The White House yesterday asked the US Congress to examine whether the Obama administration abused its investigative authority during the 2016 campaign, as part of the ongoing congressional probe into Russia's influence on the election.

Mr Obama's office did not reply to a Reuters request for comments. "Any suggestion is unequivocally false", Kevin tweeted.

Obtaining wiretaps would require officials at the Justice Department to seek permission from the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Court, which is shrouded in secrecy.

"No President can order a wiretap", Rhodes wrote on Twitter in a response back to Trump.
