Tillerson: US needs 'different approach' to North Korea
Tillerson pointed out that two decades of diplomatic and other efforts made by the United States to bring North Korea to a point of denuclearisation have failed.
His visit comes after North Korea said earlier this year it was ready to test a ballistic missile that could threaten the US mainland.
The secretary of state also stressed that bilateral cooperation and trilateral cooperation including South Korea are "critical in addressing North Korea's nuclear and missile programs".
