Apple's Clips app now available on app store for free

Apple's Clips video editing app for social networks hit the App Store on Thursday. "The effects, filters and wonderful new Live Titles we've designed for Clips let anyone make great-looking, easily shareable videos with just a few taps".

With Clips, you can capture photos or video or import any images or video you might already have in your Photo Library. You won't win an Oscar for what you've made, but if you have a short video and some accompanying photos that you want to get in a state to post to Facebook or Twitter, it could end up being the app you would turn to. So, why would people find a new app for creating content when Snapchat and its imitators already are adept at making amusing clips and snapshots? You can download Clips for free at Apple's App Store.

Clips has a few features that set it apart from other video-editing apps, the most notable of which is Live Titles. There's a ton of effects and filters and emojis to pick from, but everything still feels straightforward and easy to access, whether you're a video editing pro or not.

Aside from that, Clips looks to do some, but not all, of what Snapchat and Instagram offer.

To find Clips' various features, you tap the corresponding button near the top of the screen.

Once you are done, you can export to a social media app of your choice and it will also be saved into your library at the top bar of the app.

It appears Apple is taking the same approach, only right now it's limited to the Clips app and Messages. But on a technical aspect, the app does come with other features that are not as straight forward as the mentioned two.

If you want to add fun animations like zombie attacks and meteor strikes, FxGuru gives the best effects. It also costs a few dollars, but the ability to tweak your video like it's a photo is worth the admission fee.

Financial details aside, I would give a first and a sixth for Sherman, but wouldn't give anything higher than that. I don't see a deal getting done, but if it doesn't, this is probably Sherman's past year in Seattle.

At the moment, Chelsea, Tottenham Hotspur, City and Liverpool occupy the spots in the top four. I will continue to the last day. "I don't like to be reactive".

Many customers won't qualify for the special pricing, though; for them, unlimited data for four lines will cost $260. And unlike most wireless services, customers can switch back and forth between data options at no extra cost.

Despite that, making Clips is easy, especially if you ignore Live Titles.

Perhaps once you take the time to learn how Apple Clips works, then learn all the limitations, you can start making good videos. You can also share them with friends in Apple's default Messages for iOS app.

There are 12 Title Cards to choose from, and each can be previewed by using a 3D Touch gesture on the card you're interested in using. "The effects, filters and incredible new Live Titles we've designed for Clips let anyone make great-looking, easily sharable videos with just a few taps".

The tools that you're likely to want most often, like audio mute, are kept front and center, and you can stitch several clips together if you want.

Announcing the new application online via their Newsroom, Apple says...

Just don't try to make a fancy Clips video to share while you're out in social settings.

Share the clips using the Share button. It typically contains app icons and shortcuts for specific functions within apps, such as "Save to Dropbox". This isn't exactly intuitive; most times you're tapping a microphone icon to start recording your voice.
