We're less than two months away from Final Fantasy XII: The Zodiac Age, so Square Enix is back with more promotional material.

This will surely be a disappointment to a lot of fans since a many people were expecting "Kingdom Hearts 3" to be released before the end of 2017. Of course, neither title appears in the 2017 section, as both appear underneath the FY2018 and beyond header.

If that's not enough FFXII for you, you'll find a bunch spread out in the middle of Square Enix's recent live stream. The PS2 classic was one of the best of the modern Final Fantasy releases, although at eleven years old it's a bit of a stretch to consider it "modern" any more. Since both games are slated "beyond FY18" that means they should release in FY19, which is held from April 1, 2018 to March 31, 2019, so both games may not be released until 2019. Kingdom Hearts III, Final Fantasy VII Remake, and the Avengers Project partnership with Marvel... to fill out the "Beyond" half of the section.

Nomura-san has stated that the games still have a long way to go, though he mentioned that Square Enix still has other mid-sized titles lined up for this year.

Square Enix's lineup of games slated for both 2017 and 2018 onwards.

Avid fans of the "Kingdom Hearts" franchise would need to wait a little longer before its upcoming installment hits gaming markets. But I hope I can show you our progress if any events align this year.

Finally, Nomura said that he is sorry for keeping the people waiting for the games. However, the report says that this is still considered good news for fans because this shows that Square Enix is not leaving anything to change and will take its time to develop the game. Did this come as a surprise for you?
