O'Reilly has been under fire recently, after it was recently revealed he and his emplyer, Fox News, have settled sexual harassment and/or verbal abuse claims against him over the years from at least six women. The investigation is being conducted by the firm, Paul, Weiss, Rifkind, Wharton & Garrison.

Others argue this defense is less than compelling, given the fact that O'Reilly was by no means the only - or the most powerful - figure at the network to be hit with sexual harassment complaints. O'Reilly announced Tuesday he was taking a "vacation" that he said was planned last fall before the Times story.

O'Reilly is expected to return to his show on April 24. O'Reilly settled the lawsuits privately, without the help of Fox News's parent company 21st Century Fox or its team of lawyers.

But O'Reilly, cable TV news' most popular personality, hasn't been abandoned by his audience.
