James Gunn to write, direct 'Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3'

Yes, there are FIVE little scenes attached to the upcoming Marvel movie and director James Gunn (who recently confirmed he will return to direct the third film in the Guardians franchise too) has confirmed it.

Though some fans were probably expecting Gunn to go ahead and say that he'd work on Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 straight away, the Marvel director shouldn't burn himself out. Gunn made the announcement on his Facebook page on Monday, just a few weeks before before *Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 premieres in theaters. I promise you, the fans, I'll do it all with integrity and love and respect for the characters.

Here's the full note.

After Fast and Furious 8 had released last week to quite positive reactions and good box office response, the next big Hollywood blockbuster to hit us would be Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 2.

"I can't fricking wait to get started", Gunn wrote.

According to Gunn's post, the third "Guardians of the Galaxy" film will be set after "Avengers: Infinity War".

Granted, Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 hasn't been confirmed yet, but Vol. 2 is estimated to open with $150 million domestically and Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige previously pointed to Vol. 3 as a film that could happen beyond 2019.

Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 will in theatres come May 5 of this year, so be sure to catch that incredible visual effect.

The second film in the series, starring Chris Pratt, Zoe Saldana and Bradley Cooper, is due to hit United Kingdom screens on April 28. Michael Rooker's Yondu and Karen Gillan's Nebula also return, potentially as new members of the Guardians; while Pom Klementieff and Kurt Russell join as Mantis and Ego the Living Planet, the latter happening to be Star-Lord's dad. That said, at least one or two will set up future Marvel movies, including Avengers: Infinity War, which will be the first non-Guardians movie to feature the Guardians.
