But now, according to a new survey from Morning Consult, almost half of the 2,202 adults who were polled had a more positive opinion of Pepsi after watching the polarizing ad.

In case you need reminding, the global company's advert was based on a very simple premise.

It was harshly criticized on social media before the soft drink corporation pulled it altogether, amid jokes and complaints that it foolishly used imagery linked to ongoing social protests to sell soda.

In an upcoming episode of Keeping Up with the Kardashians, which was taped before the Pepsi furore, Kendall confessed to the camera that she had worked hard to be taken seriously as a model and she anxious about the reception her joint clothing line with Kylie would receive.

And Kendall was said to be "devastated" by the controversy surrounding her Pepsi advert. We are pulling the content and halting any further rollout.

The ad also resonated equally well with African-Americans, with 51 percent saying it paints Pepsi in a more favorable light - even despite the accusations that Pepsi's commercial downplayed the Black Lives Matter protests.

This represents something of a U-turn from their previous statement which defended the ad as depicting "various groups of people embracing a spontaneous moment ... to live life unbounded, unfiltered and uninhibited".
