Rock Hall 2017: Steve Perry will reportedly perform with Journey

On Dec. 21, the singer posted on Steve Perry News website, "I am truly grateful that Journey is being inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame". Russ caught up with guitarist Neal Schon, keyboardist Jonathan Cain and bassist Ross Valory on a tour stop in Dayton. Members of Journey have also confirmed that Perry will be there, but were vague as to whether or not he will be performing with them on stage.

So the idea that the sudden influx of popular '70s bands like this year's inductees Journey, Electric Light Orchestra and Yes - fan favorites who have always been eligible and yet passed over - is some sort of ploy to save a struggling museum is wholly misguided.

"We haven't spoken in years, physically". But since he did go onstage past year in a few different markets with the Eels and sang some of our stuff, I'm like, 'Well, why wouldn't he do that with us?' Everybody's celebrating our legacy that he and I and Jonathan [Cain] and Ross [Valory] and Steve Smith and [former Journey member and co-founder Greg] Rolie and everybody contributed to. "I'd love for him to come up and play but he knows that". It'll mark his first time fronting the band since November 1991.

And yes, they do love the home of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.
