The Patriots are reportedly one of Adrian Peterson's free agent visits

Adrian Peterson is coming to Foxboro for a free agent visit with the Patriots, a source has confirmed. As of now, the Patriots haven't shown much interest in bringing running back LeGarrette Blount back.

This is Peterson's second free-agency visit of the off-season. At the same, he'd be an interesting fit in a backfield that, along with Burkhead, also boasts the likes of Dion Lewis (hamstring) and James White.

The Patriots will be adding to their running back corps between now and when they fill out their 90-man roster by late April/early May; that is a guarantee.

At the right price, Peterson, who hasn't played a full season since 2012, would fill the role that helped Blount run for an NFL-best 18 touchdowns last season.

Peterson is reaching the end of a Hall of Fame career. He carried 37 times for 72 yards last season, returning in less than three months from his injury to play against the Colts on December 18.

Peterson had a bounce-back year in 2015 a season after being suspended the final 15 games for violating the league's personal conduct policy.

Peterson has played in just five playoff games in his career.

Peterson does come with baggage, as he was indicted on a felony charge of injury to a child for using a wooden switch to discipline his 4-year-old son.
