The Windows 10 Fall (Spring down under) Creators Update makes it easier for experiences to flow seamlessly between Windows, iOS, and Android devices.

MICROSOFT HAS ANNOUNCED the Windows 10 Fall Creators Update, which brings with it a major design overhaul and updates to Windows Timeline and Microsoft Graph.

Microsoft announced the news in Redmond, Wash. during its annual Build conference for developers.

Microsoft is also opening up Windows 10 so it works better with smartphones and tablets running on Apple's iOS and Google's Android software.

Microsoft Executive Vice President Terry Myerson acknowledged that locking people into the Windows platform is not today's reality, emphasizing that Microsoft recognizes the growing device and platform world on which applications can run. Users will be able to create stories with a soundtrack, theme and cinematic transitions.

Microsoft will be including a new app called Story Remix, a new video editing tool.

Microsoft said Thursday that Apple's popular iTunes music app would be made available to people through the Windows Store by the end of the year.

Windows 10 S, can only get apps through the store, not directly from third parties such as Apple. Acer's going to bundle both devices together at $399 and sell it this holiday season. Whichever camp you're in, here's a quick take on the top new features that will show up in Windows 10 Fall Creators Update.

That is far less than the $3,000 (£2,300) to $5,000 (£3,900) Microsoft has been charging for another mixed reality headset called HoloLens.
