The Farmer's Korner and Gold Hill neighborhoods were placed on pre-evacuation notice, along with the entire Town of Breckenridge.

Crews are working to contain a wildfire burning in the Gold Hill area north of Breckenridge Wednesday.

Authorities tell 9NEWS the Peak 2 fire is still burning - and firefighters expect the winds, and the heat to pick back up tomorrow.

The Peak 7 Neighborhood, which includes approximately 463 residences, was elevated to full evacuation at 3 p.m. yesterday.

Peak 7 is under a mandatory evacuation and residents of both Breckenridge and Shekel are warned to prepare to leave their homes.

The fire has not burned any structures and died down as temperatures cooled Wednesday night. Several dozen evacuees reported to the shelter Wednesday evening. There is an evacuation center located at Summit Middle School located at 158 School Road in Frisco.

Four more hotshot crews and a 21-person ground crew have been ordered, and a federal incident management team is also coming in to manage the fire, according to emergency officials.

The Type III Incident Command now in charge of the fire is expected to transition to a Type I Incident Command team over the next two days.
