Srinagar (Jammu and Kashmir) July 04: The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Tuesday said Jammu and Kashmir will be most benefitted by the Goods and Services Tax (GST). However, when the traders tried to march towards main gate to enter nearby Legislature complex, security forces and state police personnel, deployed in strength immediately swung into action. Speaker Kavinder Gupta, sensing the situation might get out of hand, told the assembly guard to escort out Mr Rashid from the house.However, the NC lawmakers including Altaf Wani, Abdul Majeed Bhat and Mohammad Akbar Lone prevented the assembly staff from removing Mr Rashid, prompting the speaker to adjourn the house till 2:30 pm.As the lawmakers were leaving, one of the assembly staff fell unconscious.

A heated argument was going on in the Assembly when Ansari made this remark.

Imran retorted back saying, "I can lynch you here".

The opposition parties including National Conference (NC), Congress and some independents said they were not against the GST per-se, but were against the adoption of Amendment 101 in its present form.

"We will continue to raise our genuine voice even if the government puts curbs on us". The highhandedness of police is unacceptable.

"People of Kashmir will tooth and nail oppose all moves aimed at eroding the special status of J&K and in turn affecting the disputed nature of Kashmir".
