The White House Gender Pay Gap Is Worse Than The US Average

The information used in the analysis came from the White House's annual report to Congress, which was released Friday and contains payroll information for White House staffers.

Around 47 percent of the 359 regular employees at the White House are women - and 53 per cent men.

Half the men working at the White House make $115,000 or more annually, while half the women $70,629 or less. Twenty-two employees are paid that salary and six of those are women. Likewise, Kushner is also receiving a salary of $0.00 for his position as "assistant to the president and senior advisor".

Ivanka Trump took her plea for equal pay for equal work directly to CEOs at a Tuesday summit at the White House.

In 2014, the Washington Post reported that then-President Barack Obama hadn't yet succeeded in closing the gender wage gap in his White House, albeit a much smaller gap than Trump's.

Therefore women are not making 80 cents for ever dollar paid to their male counterparts because this statement implies that women are being paid less than men for doing equal work when they are in fact doing different jobs that demand different salaries.

President Donald Trump's daughter Ivanka has campaigned for equal pay since being named one of his advisers.

The gender pay difference nationally is 82 cents for women against every dollar for men and as of 2015, federal government jobs' pay gap was 11 percent, according to a CNN look at an Office of Personnel Management report.

CNN calculated the gender gap using employee names and research.
