On Friday, the Cowboys and the rest of the National Football League were still waiting to find out the exact suspension the National Football League would levy on Ezekiel Elliott.

We've been hearing that Dallas Cowboys running back Ezekiel Elliott could be facing punishment from the league office for his role in a domestic violence case past year.

On Monday, Fox Sports' Cris Carter said on FS1's Undisputed that "information would come out" about Elliott's case and that the 22-year-old running back would soon face a suspension.

The NFL handed down a stiff, six-game suspension to Ezekiel Elliott Friday.

The NFL had been investigating Elliott for more than a year, with league officials looking into an "accumulation of behaviors" involving Elliott, who led the NFL in rushing yards and attempts during his rookie season in 2016.

The NFL released a statement shortly after Schefter's report saying it interviewed more than a dozen witnesses and consulted medical experts. In the meantime, he is allowed to be a part of preseason practices and games. Elliott will be eligible to return to the active roster on October 23.
