Dennis Rodman Offers To Be A Mediator Between Trump And Kim Jong

Former NBA player Dennis Rodman, who regularly visits North Korea and meets its leader Kim Jong-un while promoting sports, wants to "straighten things out" between Donald Trump and Kim.

'To me, I think if the President even tries to reach out to Kim, there's a great possibility that things could happen.

Rodman said he has visited North Korea "six or seven" times and gave an insight into what the pair get up to. "We hardly ever talk politics and that's the good thing about that", the 56-year-old said.

Rodman said he was not trying to defend Kim and that he was just a "sports ambassador".

That bromance flourishes against a backdrop of increasing global stress.

U.S Sens. Cory Gardner (R-CO) and Bob Corker (R-TN), and U.S. Rep. Ed Royce (R-CA) called on the Trump administration to take steps to assess and respond to North Korea's nuclear test.

Rodman seems to want to be part of a solution and might even be the best remedy for the increasingly fractured relationship between the two countries.

He added he believes there is a "great possibility" the USA and North Korea could come to some sort of agreement should Trump and Kim sit down and talk.

When Morgan noted that both he and Rodman have spent a large amount of time with Trump, as both appeared on the reality show Celebrity Apprentice when the president helmed the series, Rodman began to chuckle.

"I've never seen anyone, in my life, have that much power", Rodman said of his unlikely friendship with the man apparently threatening the United States with nuclear war. "We ride horses, we hand out, we go skiing". Whatever concerns or complaints Americans may have about immigration in general, we shouldn't threaten the future of this group of young people who are here through no fault of their own, who pose no threat, who are not taking away anything from the rest of us... He endorsed Trump back in 2015.

Rodman also noted how he and Kim avoid the issue of politics.

Rodman says he's confused by America's shifting relationship with Russian Federation, another communist state, "but for some reason we have a big issue with North Korea".
