Lions Rookie WR Kenny Golladay is KILLING IT

After quarterback Stafford threw his first touchdown pass of the year to Arizona Cardinals cornerback Justin Bethel, special-teams mistakes and back-breaking penalties killed Detroit's offensive momentum and put the defense in awful positions.

The teams briefly traded punts, but as the Lions lined up to boot it out of their own end zone, punter Kasey Redfern dropped the snap and was forced to scramble. He short-hopped a couple of passes and threw behind a handful of receivers.

We know the Cardinals plan on using running back David Johnson a lot. On a long, leading pass of 50 yards into the end zone, Golladay stretched out as much as he could and dove, bringing the ball in without it hitting the ground through some magic I can't explain. Golladay had just two catches for 14 yards heading into the fourth quarter, but he made his presence felt in the final frame. The Lions are a mess on defense and the Cards have swung this line a full four points which seems to indicate something is awry and that Arizona should have no issues.

Defensively, the Motor City did a great job of containing Arizona's touted offense.

Golladay beat Bethel again on his second touchdown.

The Cards tacked on a 24-yard Phil Dawson field goal after a special teams gaffe by the Lions.

His first touchdown, a 10-yarder, displayed the 6-foot-4, 213-pound receiver's catch radius and leaping ability. And second-year defense end Anthony Zettel posted the Lions' only sack of the game, and just the second of his career. The rookie did the rest, making an impressive diving grab to put the Lions up 11. Miles Killebrew capped the four-turnover day, intercepting a ball that deflected off the hands of running back Andre Ellington's hands and returned it 35 yards for a touchdown.
