"It was never going to work because I said Nadine was the best singer and she was".

With Girls Aloud back in the news thanks to Sarah Harding's Celebrity Big Brother escapades, another of the girl band's members has been spilling the beans on the real reasons behind their split.

"We weren't trying to make it sound like Girls Aloud", she added, "we weren't trying to make it sound the opposite, it was just a blank canvas".

She said: 'I haven't seen any of them for a long time, Nadine and I have stayed more in touch...we have our own lives going on.

"Why don't you go to work, why don't you just do it, what is wrong with you, go do it, I'm sick of looking at you and dealing with you - that's what its about".
