Destiny 2 Curse of Osiris DLC reveal: Raid Lair, story info

It seems like there will be a decent amount of new PvE content once Curse of Osiris releases on december 5, but Bungie has two more streams coming up in the next few weeks to show off even more of what the expansion will have to offer.

Step through a huge portal on the surface of Mercury and you'll materialize miles away in the Infinite Forest of the Vex. Mercury is a place that not many players have even managed to reach.

While you were gunning your way through the campaign, "past and future" machines flocked to an ancient gate on Mercury to create an army with the goal of restructuring the entire universe as they see fit. The first Lair is called "Leviathan, Eater of Worlds" and will return you to the Leviathan ship.

With Destiny 2's Expansion Pass priced at £30, it's clear that Expansion I: Curse of Osiris isn't going to be as meaty as the likes of Th Taken King or Rise of Iron were for Destiny. Let's talk about Raid Lairs. But it does mean that folks who enjoy raiding hopefully won't have to wait as long as they did in the first game to try out fresh challenges. The Raid Lair will reward players with unique loot, including armor, weapons, and cosmetics that are different from those found in the standard Leviathan Raid. It shows the titular Osiris and his ghost navigating the Infinite Forest, a construct of the Vex that allows them to simulate realities.

The most exciting bit is the addition of a new type of Raid experience. The regular Strikes playlist isn't very rewarding once you get higher up in Power levels, so it'll be nice to have a tougher, more rewarding alternative. With the Destiny 2 Curse of Osiris Raid being newly named a Raid Lair, we'll have to wait to jump in and see if it's the same kind of high-level endgame content that Guardians have come to expect from the studio. We had expected the stream to focus mainly on story, and there are some great details to chew over, but we also heard about new Activities.
