Mosley left Faith No More to join punk band Bad Brains as their singer. Mosley was the band's lead singer between 1984 and 1988 - when he was sacked from the band - recording on their first two albums We Care a Lot and Introduce Yourself. Faith No More eventually split with Mosely, taking on teenaged firebrand Mike Patton and going on to achieve major worldwide recognition with platinum-selling 1989 album The Real Thing. More recently, Mosley reunited with Faith No More for a handful of shows in 2016.

In a statement from Mosley's family and released via his publicist, Mosley's death was said to have been due to addiction-related causes after the singer experienced "a long period of sobriety".

They add: "He is survived by long-term partner Pip Logan, two daughters, Erica and Sophie, and his grandson Wolfgang Logan Mosley". The family will be accepting donations for funeral expenses.

Mosley was keeping busy this year with a "Reintroduce Yourself" solo tour.
