UCLA Head Football Coach Jim Mora Relieved of Duties

UCLA is paying Jim Mora a lot of money to not be the Bruins head coach next season and beyond - about $12 million, according to USA Today's buyout database.

"Jim helped re-establish our football program, and was instrumental in so many ways in moving the program forward", Guerrero said in a statement. Rosen has returned strong from shoulder surgery this fall, even leading the second-biggest comeback in college football history, when UCLA erased a 34-point deficit to beat Texas A&M in Week 1.

The Bruins had a 46-30 record under Mora, a former Falcons head coach. "We thank Jim and his family for his service to our school and his unquestionable commitment to our student-athletes". A loss to USC on Saturday dropped the Bruins to 5-6 on the year, ensuring they won't finish with a winning record during the regular season.

It looked like Mora was ready to lead the Bruins back in the national title mix following a Pac-12 South title in 2012, his first season with the program.

Norway's state fund 'needs to ditch oil and gas investments'
It invests Norway's revenues from oil and gas production for future generations in stocks, bonds and real estate overseas . At the end of the third quarter, Royal Dutch Shell was the fund's third-biggest equity investment at more than $5bn.

The terms of Mora's contract will be honored by UCLA Athletics, exclusively using department-generated funds.

Guerrero said his coaching search will be aided by wealthy Bruins booster Casey Wasserman and Hall of Famer and former UCLA quarterback Troy Aikman.

Mora started his career with the most wins in his first three seasons for any UCLA head coach, but went just 17-19 since the beginning of 2015. But the last two seasons have seen the program take a step back: it finished 4-8 previous year, and is 5-6 and in danger of missing the missing postseason following a 28-23 loss to No. 11 USC on Saturday. UCLA could land a bowl game with a victory over Cal on Friday.
