Most importantly this event is free and offers all the new content for free to play (excluding the items available during the time). The King's Row and Hanamura maps have been decorated with snow and festive lights, and players will find stacks of presents and decorated trees they can blast at with their various weaponry.

Overwatch game director Jeff Kaplan hinted that it's a fan-favorite Hanzo look that showed up in an Overwatch digital comic.

With the holiday season fast approaching, you'll have probably already gathered that Overwatch's Winter Wonderland event will be returning at some point.

The event begins on December 13. Speaking of which, Black Forest will be the setting for the return of Mei's Snowball Offensive. We get to see McCree and Sombra at a bar, Genji writing a note to Mercy, and Reinhardt spending time with Torbjorn's family.

A new winter themed Arcade event will also make its debut this year, a 5v1 boss battle entitled Mei's Yeti Hunt. Any new outfit or additional cosmetic from 2017 is always at a higher cost. Yeti Hunt will see a team of five Mei players - with slightly different abilities - have to hunt down one player as the Yeti aka Winston on a modified Nepal Village map. Winston will be running around the map eating pieces of meat which fuel his Primal Rage. If enough Meis go down, Winston wins (tons). The big thing here is that a player will actually control the yeti, which is a powered up version of Winston.

Once triggered, the Mei's have to run for their lives and try to escape the angry Yeti. Players are tasked with hunting him down before his rage sets in.

"I know a lot of you are thinking that this sounds kinda silly and kinda ridiculous", Kaplan said in his video to the Overwatch community. I am however referring to Overwatch, Blizzard's massively popular competitive shooter, which will be returning to Mei's Winter Wonderland as the game's seasonal event this Christmas.
