Nevertheless, OnePlus revealed in the blog post that the update contains some Launcher optimizations for Shelf, as well as a new option that will allow users to upload their photos through Shot. The default Camera app has received an uplift with a new UI design, optimisations for photo quality, and a beauty effect for the preloaded Portrait mode. Users would also observe a history feature in the Calculator app and an alarm calendar feature in the Clock app. OnePlus 5T also had the surprising security feature of Face Unlock. So the fact that the OnePlus 5T could be unlocked just by staring into its digital soul is understandably something that OnePlus 5 owners might be disappointed at not also being able to do. The update for system adds following new capabilities. This feature will also make the unlocking of the device much faster but, concurrently, much less secure as well. However, OnePlus' use of its Face Unlock feature landed the company in somewhat lukewarm water, since a firm that specializes in facial recognition and biometric authentication technology accused OnePlus of infringing on at least one of its patents. The company had promised the stable update by early 2018, but the current rollout indicates a change in schedule by OnePlus as a Christmas eve surprise to users. Made popular by tech giant Apple lately after it was introduced in the latest iPhone launches, the OnePlus 5T is one of the few models that have a comparable face unlock feature. We have basically told you all of the most important features coming in this update, but there are even more you will have to check out once you install the update. Let us know in the comments what you think about the OnePlus 5 device and the new update to OxygenOS 5.
