Packers' Adams on Twitter: It was 'head hunting' from Panthers player

Davante Adams lashed out at Thomas Davis on Monday, tweeting that the Panthers linebacker was "headhunting" when he led with his helmet on a blindside hit against the Packers wide receiver.

Davis plans to appeal his suspension, according to a report from ESPN's Adam Schefter.

He may be genuinely sorry about what he did, but that won't save linebacker Thomas Davis from a big fine and a suspension. "Your actions yesterday warrant an escalation of discipline", Jon Runyan, NFL vice president of football operations, said in a letter to Davis.

Davis is the second linebacker this season to receive a two-game ban because of an illegal hit applied to Adams. In no way way I trying to hurt you.

Drug tycoon Barry Sherman found dead with wife
Police said homicide investigators are involved in the case, though the deaths have not officially been classified as homicides. Although Sherman stepped down as the CEO of the company, he continued to serve as the chairman.

That didn't prevent Adams from speaking out on Twitter, however.

Runyan wrote: "During an interception return, you took a path toward your opponent who was pursuing the play and delivered a violent and unnecessary blindside block to his head and neck area". Panthers coach Ron Rivera said earlier Monday, however, that he did not think Davis meant to hit Adams in the head.

Adams has now suffered three concussions in the past two seasons. One thing is for sure though - he won't be available for the game against Tampa Bay this coming Sunday.
