While fans can walk around inside a physical recreation of Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry at The Wizarding World of Harry Potter at Universal Studios theme parks, there's nothing that simulates the experience of being a student at the school from the Harry Potter books and movies.

Developer Jam City has announced that they are working on a new Harry Potter mobile game called Harry Potter: Hogwarts Mystery.

"What an honor it is for Jam City to develop a mobile game for one of the largest and most iconic brands in history", co-founder and CEO of Jam City Chris DeWolfe said in a statement.

They say that most of the professors from the Harry Potter stories will be in the game - including Professor Dumbledore - and players will be able to go to lessons and interact with the Hogwarts staff. There have been 13 Harry Potter games since 2001, all of which remained faithful to the source material from J.K. Rowling's books and the subsequent films. With the help of their own own digital Polyjuice Potion, the creative geniuses at Botnick Studios transformed themselves into J.K. Rowling and created a new Harry Potter chapter written by bots. Niantic is producing the title with Warner Bros. Ron's scared, Harry's reckless and Hermione knows just what to do.

Botnik Studios shared its creation via a tweet (below), where it explained that it used predictive keyboards that were trained with all seven books in the Harry Potter series. Interactive Entertainment to create Harry Potter: Hogwarts Mystery.

While a computer can certainly mimic elements of the famous series, though, it can hardly capture J.K. Rowling's magic - which is why the result, called Harry Potter and the Portrait of What Looked Like a Large Pile of Ash, is so unusual and amusing that fans are begging for more.

Of course, while most of the individual lines here were generated by the predictive keyboard, it did take a team of writers to pick out the best bits and assemble them into a coherent narrative, so we writers aren't totally obsolete just yet.
