Barkley was hot property during the summer transfer window after refusing to sign a new contract at Goodison Park with Chelsea and Tottenham just two of the clubs to show a keen interest.

Everton midfielder Ross Barkley will undergo a medical on Friday before completing a £15 million move to Chelsea, a source close to the deal has told ESPN FC.

The January transfer window is now open so clubs are working hard trying to strengthen their squads for the second half of the season and put deals in place for the summer.

It appears Ross Barkley is about to join Chelsea.

The Telegraph and even the Metro further added that Chelsea is very confident of signing the Everton man.

Everton manager Sam Allardyce has revealed that his club are expecting to receive a bid for Ross Barkley this month and concedes that they are destined to lose the England global.

"I think that we are resigned and the club was resigned before I got here that we're going to lose Ross and I can't see that changing", said Allardyce.

Barkley was out of contract at the end of the season, and could have left Everton on a free transfer.

Barkley has yet to play this season after having hamstring surgery following a training injury but is now approaching match fitness.
