The fire brigade issued a notice to Cinevista Studios on Monday for violating safety norms after they found that its internal fire-fighting system was not working at the time of the fire on Saturday.

News agency Press Trust of India quoted officials saying that there were no causalities or injuries reported so far.

A short circuit at a power generation unit in the studio reportedly set off the blaze, which is described as a Level 3 fire.

Seven fire engines and four water tankers were rushed to the studio to control the fire.

Fire officials said prima facie the cause of the fire appears to be the ongoing welding work being done by the Public Works Department (PWD) department.
