A Series of Unfortunate Events Season 2 Premiere Date Revealed
Netflix used the start of 2018 as an excuse to drop a little game for fans of their show A Series of Unfortunate Events . Season two picks up where the first season left off by adapting books five through nine in the series.

U.S. cable channel Syfy has announced that it has given the green light to the show, with Gretchen Mol (Boardwalk Empire), Eoin Macken (The Night Shift), David Ajala (Fast & Furious 6) and Brían F O'Byrne (Love/Hate) set to star and writer Martin among the executive producers.

"We are looking forward to diving deeper into George R.R. Martin's chilling world of Nightflyers", Bill McGoldrick, executive vice president of scripted development for NBCUniversal Cable Entertainment, said in a July statement. Daniel Cerone (The Blacklist, Dexter, Constantine, The Mentalist) will serve as showrunner. Onboard as executive producers are Gene Klein, David Bartis and Edge of Tomorrow and The Bourne Identity franchise blockbuster director Doug Liman, all of whom are representing production company Hypnotic, which Liman co-owns with Bartis. Along the way, the crew are victimized by the computer system on board the ship (dubbed "The Nightflyer.") A series of terrifying and deadly events occur which have the crew doubting their journey as well as their own sanity. However, the series is now in the midst of production in Ireland. Robert Jaffe ("Nightflyers", - 1987) will produce. Martin will also have an EP credit, and Mike Cahill (I Origin) will direct the pilot. It's set in Martin's "Thousand Worlds" universe, which despite containing a thousand worlds, could not find room for Westeros.

Nightflyers will be shot in Ireland, and has a tentative premiere date of July, 2018.
