For weeks, Nintendo fans have been waiting for a new Nintendo Direct - the focused, digital presentations the company gives to announce new Switch and 3DS games. A lot of cool new games were revealed during the surprise Nintendo Direct this morning and a new Mario Tennis was among the most exciting announcements. Ten years on from its original DS release, the publisher has announced a brand new remaster of the game.

It's a ladies-only affair with SNK Heroines: Tag Team Frenzy.

Nintendo also announced a free update to Super Mario Odyssey, which will bring Luigi to the game this February.

Pokken Tournament DX will receive some new content through a DLC "Battle Pack". The Switch version of the game will include a timed-exclusive character name Joy, who's described as a "Japanese computer whiz". If you don't want to play with friends, allies can be replaced with your standard CPU allies. Sadly, you won't be able to get both at once - the first half of this update rolls out on January 31 and the second lands on March 23.
