A "Power Play" option that multiplies non-jackpot prizes by up to 10 times to a maximum of $2 million may be added to any Powerball play for only $1. The winning numbers were 28, 30, 39, 59, 70 and the Mega Ball was 10.

This winning Mega Millions jackpot comes as the Powerball jackpot is also at a historic level.

The identity of the victor was not immediately available, although the victor can not remain anonymous under Florida law.

Meanwhile the $570 million Powerball jackpot - it's still out there - is the fifth-largest in the game's history and seventh-largest in United States history.

The odds of winning the Mega Millions jackpot are one in 302.5 million. The odds of picking the right six numbers for the Mega Millions jackpot are 303 million to 1, the game said. On Aug. 15, 2012, Donald Lawson, of Lapeer, won a $337 million Powerball jackpot. Powerball adds Puerto Rico.

Americans spent $80.5 billion on lottery games previous year, according to the North American Association of State and Provincial Lotteries.
