Prosecutor attacks Trump's 'ghoulish' comments on death of Colts' Edwin Jackson

"We will simply seek justice on behalf of the families of those two victims".

Indianapolis Colts linebacker Edwin Jackson during NFL football pre-season game between the Detroit Lions and the Indianapolis Colts at Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis, Aug. 13, 2017. "We must get the Dems to get tough on the Border, and with illegal immigration, FAST!" he tweeted.

Joe Donnelly, Indiana's Democratic Senator said in a statement, "This man should not have been allowed back into this country after he was deported in 2007". He was deported to Guatemala a second time in May 2009. It has since been discovered that Gonsales Cabrera was an alias for the twice-deported Orrego-Savala.

He was due in court late Wednesday for an initial hearing on the charges, which include two counts of failure to remain at the scene of an accident and two counts tied to drunken driving causing death, the Indianapolis Star reported.

Torres said any future juror who lives in Marion County has already "been exposed to the negative attention brought because of his (immigration) status". Prosecutors spell his name as "Orrego-Zavala" in charging documents, but his lawyer said his name is spelled Orrego-Savala.

Prosecutors say it was not the first time Orrego-Savala has committed a vehicular crime in Indiana.

Amid all of this, the Colts, in a statement, added how the whole team was "heartbroken" by the loss of their player, "Edwin was loved by all in the Colts organization", the Colts said.

"We admired his outgoing personality, competitive spirit and hard-working mentality", the Colts said in a release.

Authorities arrested Miguel Orrego-Savala, 37, in Marion County, Indiana, on Sunday, Feb. 4, 2018.

Police say Jackson, a 26-year-old linebacker with the Colts, was the passenger in an Uber when he got sick at around 4 a.m. Jackson's driver, 54-year-old Monroe pulled over in the westbound lanes of I-70 near Holt Road to help him. Investigators say Jackson and his Uber driver, 54-year-old Jeffrey Monroe, were standing outside Monroe's vehicle when they were struck and killed by a pickup truck driven by Orrego-Savala.

Both men were pronounced dead at the scene by the Marion County coroner's office.

Orrego-Savala was arrested following the crash early Sunday along Interstate 70 in Indianapolis.

Orrego-Savala was arrested with a blood alcohol level of.239 percent - more than three times the legal limit of 0.08. He also admitted to being the driver, according to the affidavit.

Orrego-Savala was drunk when he was behind the wheel and plowed into Indianapolis Colts linebacker Edwin Jackson and Jeffrey Monroe in IN early Sunday morning.
