Wynn Resorts said it has appointed Matt Maddox, who now serves as the company's president, as its new CEO effective immediately. The lawsuit claims the Wynn Resorts "board continued to approve of licensing applications to gambling authorities that omitted Wynn's conduct as the board continued to take no action to investigate the allegations of egregious misconduct involving the company".

Wynn's resignation may not be enough to satisfy regulators in Macau, according to Wang Changbin, director of the gaming teaching and research centre at Macao Polytechnic Institute, since the gaming law's suitability clause applies to major shareholders as well as executives and directors.

The resignation came more than a week after Wynn left his post as the Republican National Committee's finance chairman.

"In the last couple of weeks, I have found myself the focus of an avalanche of negative publicity".

The Review-Journal story included claims similar to the Wall Street Journal of women being pressured into having sex with Wynn.

As of this writing, William White did not hold a position in any of the aforementioned securities.

Wynn's resignation as chairman and CEO of Wynn Resorts was effective immediately, the Associated Press reported late Wednesday night. Along with Wynn Las Vegas, Wynn created some of the most notable gaming and hotel landmarks in Las Vegas, including The Mirage, Treasure Island, and Bellagio.

Not only has Wynn Resorts promised to pay its top executives their salary and bonuses for each year remaining in their contracts, the CEO has a special agreement that gives him a big extra boost: Steve Wynn is entitled to receive triple his annual allotment for a maximum of four years.

As it stands now, the $2.4 billion, 3 million-square-foot casino and resort on the banks of the Mystic River in Everett is set to open very precisely at 8 p.m. on June 24, 2019.

The suit was filed in District Court in Clark County, Nevada on behalf of the Norfolk County Retirement System, a current stockholder of Wynn Resorts.

The above statement was followed up by Steve Wynn who denied the allegations.

"Our view that Wynn Resorts is likely to retain its gaming licenses is buoyed by Steve Wynn's removal. given that gaming commission investigations of suitability appear to be centered on allegations against the company founder", Wasiolek said. Regulators in Nevada and MA are reviewing the allegations, and Wynn Resorts' board launched its own investigation.
