ICC Test Ranking: Kagiso Rabada on top, Ravichandran Ashwin gains two places

Kagiso Rabada's 11-wicket haul in the second Test at St George's Park against Australia has propelled him back to the top of the MRF Tyres ICC Test Rankings for bowlers.

Rabada won the man-of-the-match award as South Africa won the second Test in Port Elizabeth to level the four-match series at 1-1.

After dismissing the Australian captain in the second innings, Rabada is seen celebrating vociferously as he walks past Smith, and their shoulders touch with the violent impact equivalent to Mike Tyson dropping a yellow rectangular dish-washing sponge on to the hide of a full-grown male rhinoceros.

South Africa made a bit of a heavy work of reaching their modest target of 101, before captain Faf du Plessis (2) and Theunis de Bruyn (11) guided them to 102 for four.

Rabada's peak in the rankings comes a day after he picked up four demerit points for two separate incidents during the second Test against Australia.

Cricket South Africa (CSA) immediately announced they had 48 hours to appeal the decision and were seeking legal opinion. For me they are not.

" It was a short flick of two players and you'd [hope to] get one or two demerit points as a slap on the wrist because it wasn't full-body contact".

"I think we're just going too far on the sensitive side, because every incident on the cameras is: 'Did you see that?"

Bihar bypolls: RJD wins Araria, retains Jehanabad; BJP holds on to Bhabhua
The results of two assembly seats contested in the recent round of bypolls in Bihar were declared on Wednesday. Suday Yadav is the son of former state minister Mundrika Singh Yadav, whose death necessitated the bypoll.

Ex-Raiders CB Sean Smith Pleads Guilty to Assault, Begins Prison Sentence
A former undrafted free agent, Carrier had eight grabs for 71 yards in 14 games (three starts) for the Rams last season. He would be waived by the Raiders months later before being added by the Philadelphia Eagles to their practice squad.

Tom Brady: Family will play a big part in retirement decision
He said he knew the Jaguars game would be a challenge after practicing with the team earlier in the season. As Brady drove home from Gillette Stadium with his wife, Gisele Bundchen , he gave Gronkowski a call.

But Rabada's disciplinary record is a problem which South Africa needs to deal with if it's not going to lose him regularly to bans. Nathan Lyon found guilty of level-one offence of "conduct that is contrary to the spirit of the game", having dropped the ball near dismissed batsman AB de Villiers after completing a run out.

"The match referee said there are bigger things to play for here, that's why he didn't want to ban Davey Warner", he said.

Bowling legend Michael Holding is fed up with ugly send-offs and sledging and has declared it's time to red card offending players out of the game.

In Rabada's absence, South Africa are most likely to rope in Morne Morkel for the third Test at Newlands, starting Match 22. I just think that has changed so much over the a year ago or two that you are getting a lot more incidents happening now than before.

Rabada, claiming his fourth 10-wicket match haul, ended his 28th Test in dejection.

"I'm pretty happy not to be playing Test cricket when you scream a couple times with passion, give a few sends off & then get banned!"

Rabada's current-day actions seem positively mundane and innocuous in comparison, and the incident that really triggered the two-game sit-out bizarrely - at least to me - also seemed among the more sterile on his own "list".

It is all so confusing, and divisive, and South Africans may well have some justification for arguing that the Proteas have copped the rough end of the censuring system - ironically against the team in the world with the strongest reputation by far, and for decades, for often incendiary and crude sledging.
