Samsung, Nokia Dominate Mobile World Congress 2018 With New Smartphones

Last year, HMD Global brought back the nostalgia with the announcement of the new Nokia 3310 feature phone.

HMD Global, the manufacturer of Nokia-branded smartphones, has launched the first smartphone Nokia 7 Plus at Mobile World Congress 2018 (MWC), which is the first device by the company to feature an 18:9 aspect ratio display. It runs on Smart Feature OS and has a built-in FM radio. As for the inside, CNet noted that the device will run on the Snapdragon 660 chipset from Qualcomm, with 4 GB of memory and 64 GB of internal storage.

The Nokia 8 Sirocco comes with ZEISS optics in a dual-camera setup, 12-megapixel wide + 13-megapixel Tele configuration for the best experience, along with dual-tone flash and display flash.

Along with series of other smartphones, HMD Global has also announced a new variant of its flagship smartphone called Nokia 8 Sirocco. So, in one scene, the main character of the cult action - Neo (played by actor Keanu Reeves) - used was the Nokia 8110.

If we talk about the phone's availability, the Nokia 8 Sirroco will will go on sale in early April.

The Nokia 8110 sports a 2.4-inch QVGA colour display.

The phone has modest specifications, 1GB of RAM, a MediaTek MT6737M processor and 2150 mAh battery.

The shots you see here are of the black version with copper trim, but there's also a blue version with silver trim available.

While the new Nokia phones are pretty straightforward, the Windows Phone news is more confusing. It comes in 128GB in-built storage, which can be further expanded upto 256GB.

HMD is Google's largest Android One program partner and it reflects in the Nokia 7 Plus's software.

Hardware only tells part of the story though, and a huge feature of this device is the fact that it is running Android One. The camera is also supplemented by AI for enhancing selfies and adding fun effects to the Bothies. Connectivity options on board the Nokia 8110 4G include 4G VoLTE with hotspot functionality, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth v4.1, GPS/ A-GPS, Micro-USB, FM radio, and a 3.5mm headphone jack.
