North Carolina restaurant serves tarantula burger part of 'exotic meat month'

You can get some creepy crawly with your burger at a restaurant in Durham. But these may not be for everyone.

Then they must claim theirTarantula Burger (pasture-raised NC beef burger, gruyere cheese, oven-roasted tarantula and spicy chili sauce) with Dirty Fries for $30.

Bull City Burger and Brewery has served one tarantula burger every day since April 4, and the lottery continues through April 29, while supplies lasts.

Bull City Burger and Brewery is now celebrating "Exotic Meat Month" by featuring burgers made with everything from alligator to iguana, python, bison, turtle and insects.

They'll win a free T-shirt, too.

The exotic meats range from some that aren't that out-of-the-ordinary, like turkey and venison, to some you'd have trouble finding in other restaurants, like camel and python.

The tarantula burger can not be ordered, rather, interested eaters come to the brewpub and sign up for a raffle. Bull City says the tarantula is lightly-salted before being baked.

As of this writing, eight people - four men and four women - have enjoyed Bull City's tarantula burger.

Visitors can't simply order the item off the menu.
