Even irony itself was not prepared for that development.

Michael Cohen, President Donald Trump's longtime personal lawyer who is under investigation for his business dealings, has provided legal advice to Fox News host Sean Hannity, one of Trump's most prominent media supporters. And it makes sense - after all, Sean Hannity's relationship with the controversial Cohen was brought to light, Biglaw firms have gotten caught up in the mess, and the nuances of attorney-client privilege have gotten above the fold treatment. Hannity was just talking to Cohen about real estate.

One was Trump. Another was Elliott Broidy, a Trump fundraiser who resigned from the Republican National Committee on Friday after it was revealed that he paid $1.6 million to a Playboy Playmate with whom he had an extramarital affair.

Fox News identity Sean Hannity has a direct line to Donald Trump and often workshops stories with him. It is gratuitous doublespeak.

"It nearly goes without saying, unfortunately, that none of Mr Cohen's clients want to be associated with the government raid on his home and law office, or want to be affiliated in any way with the proceedings here and the attendant media coverage".

One important lesson learned from the proceeding: the names of an attorney's clients are not protected by the attorney-client privilege.

Hannity sought Cohen's legal counsel only on matters involving Hannity and himself? To get the search warrant in the first place, the government had to have convinced the court that Cohen and his so-called clients were not actually in an attorney-client relationship, and therefore their conversations were not privileged. I don't imagine Charles Koch would be left on hold very long, but it would probably be longer than Sean Hannity is.

On May 25 of 2017, the station received the letter from Toensing and Sekulow, calling Schlussel's statements about Hannity "false and defamatory" and demanding that the station never air them again, according to The Atlantic. Even if Cohen wanted to disclose the discussions, he would only be allowed to do so if Hannity agreed to it. That is not the case, Hannity insisted on his radio show.

The accidental client is a legal possibility.

Or so Cohen's own legal team claims, anyway. What do you think about this?
