Phil Mickelson says Tiger Woods' golfing prime will be 'unrepeatable'

- This could be fun.

The last time Tiger Woods and Phil Mickelson walked the fairways together at the Players Championship was in the third round in 2001, when the former had three majors on his mantelpiece and was a month away from making it four at the Masters to complete the Tiger Slam. "... It gets me thinking, why don't we just bypass all the ancillary stuff of a tournament and just go head-to-head and just have kind of a high-stakes, winner-take-all match?"

Fowler said "I've got the best seat in the house" for Woods-Mickelson. Mickelson reasoned. "Now, I don't know if he wants a piece of me, but I just think it would be something that would be really fun for us to do".

Tiger and Phil have met on the first tee 35 other times in PGA Tour stops, most recently at the 2014 PGA Championship.

Woods was rated among the favourites at the U.S. Masters in April, but finished equal 32nd and blamed poor iron play. And it sucked to have to play against him. "And now it's OK".

Woods has won 14 major tournaments while Mickelson has five to his name.

Woods-Mickelson pairings are rare, especially in the first two rounds, when the PGA Tour or the organizing bodies of the major championships can set them up.

More Women Accuse Rose; Some Say They Alerted CBS Managers
Rose allegedly made similar advances to Wei, including calling her "China doll" and caressing her arms when she handed him papers. But, according to the complaint, the defendants "unlawfully failed and refused to take any remedial action and allowed Mr".

Mickelson had earlier offered effusive praise of just how powerful Woods was in his prime. But Woods was quick to add that he was also joking. It will be the first time since 2001 that Mickelson and Woods have been paired together at the Players, which begins Thursday at TPC Sawgrass.

"But now we're both later in our careers. We have always looked at each other and said, 'Where is he on the board?' That's what Arnold [Palmer] and Jack [Nicklaus] used to do all the time".

"Now it's different. I feel better, and my short game has turned around", he said. There are 10 past champions in the field, and 20 first-time participants, and the victor could come from any of the 48 threesomes and 144 total players.

It will be the eighth tournament appearance for the 42-year-old already in 2018, suggesting he is finally over the back issues that blighted him for two years. "It was the most remarkable golf in the history of the game, and I think unrepeatable. I'm doing better as time has gone on". And it (stunk) to have to play against him.

It is remembered as the Duel at Doral, an epic day where Mickelson entered the fray in the form of his life having won two of his last three events with some low scores.

"So, I love that we're paired together". "Hopefully the three of us can kind of get things going and feed off each other and get ourselves in a great position for the weekend".

When Woods was asked whether he'd be up for Mickelson's winner-take-all proposition, he said, "I'm definitely not against that at all". "He has to look over both shoulders and make sure, because then Tiger gives him his number". "We always have", Woods said.
