Fortnite Playground mode coming back TODAY? Fans given hope about LTM return

With more resources, every chest spawning in for every game, and the option to play together with friends with friendly fire and unlimited respawns, Playground Mode is the closest thing to a private practice lobby that Fortnite has offered so far.

As confirmed by Epic Games in a recent tweet, the Fortnite Playground status is "delayed" with no ETA given.

As such, it seems likely that the developers want to avoid this situation with the Playground Mode and only have to fix it one time.

Introduced as part of yesterday's v4.5 update to Fortnite, Playground is a limited time mode where up to four players are able to drop into a map together, experiment with weapons and building, shoot each other with minimal effect, and basically just learn to play the game better without fearing having to start queuing for a match over again from the start.

We'll update you as more information on Playground becomes available.

In a Reddit post today (June 29), Epic Games announced that it's replacing Fortnite Battle Royal's Final Fight limited-time mode (LTM) with the tried-and-tested 50v50 LTM. "We've got multiple teams working to get this mode back into your hands so you can let your imaginations run wild", said Epic on Reddit. Epic is now gearing up for another event, but you might only have one opportunity to see it live. "More details available tomorrow".

It's likely that when the developer finally gets Playground up and running, we'll see the mode extended beyond it's originally scheduled downtime thanks to the delays it's seen. But now we know that whatever is going to happen is going to happen live.
