To celebrate the occasion, the company has announced the arrival of a new feature that music lovers and the social media enthusiasts around the world are bound to appreciate. Once you have finalised the song, you can fast-forward and rewind through the track to choose the right part for your story.

Users will now be able to add a soundtrack to their story, selecting a track from a library of thousands of songs.

Users can also select a song even before a video has been captured. This resolves a common user complaint regarding the inability to record an Instagram story while playing music from another app.

"We're adding new songs to our music library every day". You can search for a specific song or artist, or browse by genre, mood, and what's popular.

Meanwhile, Instagram has confirmed that Instagram Stories now has 400m daily users, up from 300m in November.
