OPPO Find X first look: A Samsung Galaxy S9 on steroids

The good news for the U.S. market is that the OPPO Find X will be the first phones from the manufacturer to be released in the U.S. market. While this echoes Vivo's latest effort with the Nex, instead of simply popping out the front-facing camera, the Find X houses a much bigger mechanism containing the rear camera too.

When phone maker Oppo says that the Oppo Find X is nearly all screen, it really means it. Unlike many Android OEMs that have begun embracing the notch-style display, Oppo has pushed the envelope with a motorised slider at the top that comes out while launching the front or rear camera. OPPO's flagship offering has now gone official (via The Verge) and brings forth an impressive screen-to-body ratio of 92.25 percent.

All that drama would be for naught if the Find X was packing sub-par cameras; happily, on paper at least, that's not the case. OPPO is calling this display their Panoramic Arc Screen. The smartphone is powered by an octa-core Snapdragon 845 SoC with Adreno 630 GPU and 8GB RAM.

The front camera module also includes a host of sensors for a 3D facial scanning system called "O-Face" for security on the Find X. Like most modern handsets, the Find X will have a dual camera setup on the rear, featuring 16MP and 20MP sensors.

During the event, OPPO has announced that the Find X will carry a price tag of European Union 999 which is around RM 4,636 after conversion.

Konta gains revenge on Vekic to reach Nottingham final

OPPO's true flagship phone is about to make its debut in the next couple of hours, and while there seems to be no embargo for the media, The Verge has done a hands on video on the device which we finally have the opportunity to see how the phone looks like in real life. The list is completed by 256 GB of storage, 3,730 mAh battery with fast charging, Color OS based on Android 8.1 Oreo.

Oppo did not reveal the release date for Lamborghini edition but said the phone will retail at a starting price of Euro 1,599, roughly Rs 1,26,000. Oppo uses the 3D Structured Light Technology to map out the nose, eyes, and other facial features, and "personalize your selfie" as a result. However, for people willing to take that chance, the Oppo Find X does look like quite a spectacular phone.

Oppo says that it takes just half a second to open and has been tested to last more than 300,000 times - potentially giving "five years" of use. Then came the Porsche Edition of the phone, with a sky-high price and a few exclusive features, including 512GB of built-in storage and two fingerprint sensors.

The phone will be available in two colours - Bordeaux Red and Glacier Blue - for €999 with the phone going on-sale in Europe in August. The power and volume keys both reside on the right of the Nex, with an additional key on the left which fires Vivo's own smart voice assistant.
