EA's Origin Access Premiere subscription launches next week

Origin Access Premier is the tier above the already existing Origin Access that gave you access to a specified list of EA games at a $5 a month price or $30 for a year. It's fairly realistic to imagine other big publishers and platform holders to soon offer their own subscription services.

Curiously, the Origin Access Premier homepage for Indian users, which was available post announcement at E3 and stated the aforementioned pricing of the subscription service now redirects you back to Origin Access. In return for your money, you gain access to 75 EA games with the service slowly opening up to also offer non-EA titles.

EA revealed more about its Origin Access Premier plans at the recent post earnings conference call.

Electronic Arts Announces Origin Access Premier Service Will Roll Out Next Week
EA Origin Access Premier launches next week for $14.99 a month or $99.99 a year

"In a network where subscriptions can reduce friction and help give players ready access to more great content, we are enabling developers from EA and beyond to bring truly wonderful and immersive new experiences to a global audience".

Disappointing though it is that we won't be lifting any more free stuff out of EA's pockets, I'm not really surprised that On the House is going away. Games are also only added after several months of being released.

Game trials are now available to subscribers five days before release and that will be the case for the full versions for Premier members. The price will be changed, however, to £3.99 a month or £19.99 a year. Play the full game starting five days before launch without purchasing it separately, until you cancel your Premier membership. Unlike the traditional service, "Premier" will up the benefit to include newly released games. If you decide to upgrade to the Premier tier, you'll have to pay either $14.99 a month or $99.99 for a full, year-long subscription.
