Giuliani: No Cohen Concerns 'As Long As He Tells The Truth'

President Trump's attorney Rudy Giuliani says President Trump did nothing wrong in his dealings with Michael Cohen and isn't anxious about testimony he might give to special counsel Robert Mueller.

Rudy Giuliani says he has "no concerns" about the possibility that President Trump's longtime personal attorney Michael Cohen will cooperate with federal investigators.

Cohen's home, office and a hotel room in NY were raided by the FBI in April as part of an investigation into his business dealings.

Wehle told MSNBC's Stephanie Ruhle on Monday that it would be "impossible" for Mueller to agree to Giuliani's demands.

Next, Cohen spoke about the Trump Tower meeting, which both the President and Giuliani have claimed is a non-event, hinting that Cohen knows more about the meeting than he has previously said, the source said.

"He didn't direct him to do that", Giuliani said.

In less than three months on the job, Giuliani has shifted the timeframe and the parameters for any Trump-Mueller interview no fewer than seven times.

The special counsel investigation was established by Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein to handle the FBI's Russian Federation investigation, which began in 2016, after Mr. Trump fired FBI Director James Comey in May 2017. "To subpoena the president has never been done successfully in the history of this country, and there is very strong law saying the president can't be subpoenaed", he said.

"I didn't say they have to prove a crime", Giuliani said.

"We've been through everything on collusion and obstruction", he said.

Politico's Josh Gerstein was the first to point out the discrepancy between Giuliani's comments and Trump's denial.

He said that the president would not agree to be interviewed as part of the Mueller probe unless the special counsel "can satisfy us that there's some basis for this investigation".

In his interview last week, Cohen said Trump "simply accepting the denial of" Russian President Vladimir Putin that he didn't meddle in the 2016 USA presidential election was "unsustainable".

Giuliani revealed to CNN's State of the Union that the White House legal team has debriefed all the witnesses to the Mueller investigation, and reviewed 1.4m pages of documents handed over to the special counsel.

Rudy Giuliani confirmed on Sunday that the White House contested a request from the special counsel to interview White House chief of staff John Kelly. Mr. Cohen has denied any wrongdoing. "Michael's not going to lie, he's going to tell the truth, and as long as he does that we have nothing to fear", Giuliani said. "I respect our nation's intelligence agencies' ... unanimous conclusions".
