Microsoft debut cheaper Surface Go tablet

The range of devices before the Microsoft Surface was officially joined by a low-priced Surface of Go, the recommended price which begins at $ 399.

The Surface Go is a decent little device, but it's more suited to competing with the likes of Apple's iPad than it is with the Surface Pro. That's significantly cheaper than the rest of the £650+ Surface Pro range. The new addition to the family weighs only 1.15lbs and is 8.3mm thin, offering ultimate Windows portability in a small package.

Nevertheless it's worthwhile taking a look at the Surface Go, as it indicates that Microsoft still views the small, cost-effective tablet space as having some merit. The device operates on 2-nuclear processor of Intel of Pentium Gold 4415Y.

While $399 is an appealing sum on, well, the surface, especially compared to the base $799 Surface Pro, you can spend more for a model with extra memory and storage; the starting Go model gives you 4GB and 64GB, respectively.

Finding Microsoft's Surface devices too expensive (they are, in fact), Satya Nadella and Co have just decided to make their signature machine one for all.

Toys function like emotes, but instead of just a dance they spawn physical items into the game that remain there indefinitely. These will take you "for a wild ride" if you dare step in, so maybe they'll act as some kind of teleportation portal.

Roger Federer Defeats Lukas Lacko easily at 2018 Wimbledon
Next up for Federer is a third round tie against 39-year-old Croatian Ivo Karlovic or German world number 64 Jan-Lennard Struff. No. 10 Madison Keys of the United States was the highest-seeded woman in early action, playing Luksika Kumkhum of Thailand.

The Microsoft Surface Go sports a 10-inchPixel Sense display with a resolution of 1800×1200 pixels. Given that the Surface Go is meant to be carried around as the name suggests, a strong battery life is a must have.

And crucially, the Surface Go's £380 price tag makes it almost £370 cheaper than its range-topping sibling.

A confirmed list of specs and configurations for the Microsoft Surface Go hasn't yet emerged but, thanks to the announcement blog post, we do know some general top-line specs.

The Surface Go has a 10-inch screen, about the same size as the entry-level iPad. It also has high precision tuning and Windows Precision Trackpad that supports five-point multi-finger gestures, and you can connect the new Surface Mobile Mouse. Next up is the version with 8 GB of RAM and 128 GB of solid-state storage and costs $549. Only the Wi-Fi version is going to be available right now, with the LTE model set to hit shelves later this year.

It also boasts a built-in kickstand with full friction hinge that extends to 165 degrees helping consumers transform the device from tablet to studio mode, and a Windows Hello camera allows for familiar, quick, and secure sign-in using face recognition. As far as connectivity is concerned, it comes with Surface Connect for charging and docking; USB-C 3.1 for data, video, and charging; a headphone jack; and also a MicroSD card reader for storage expansion.
