Thanos Did Nothing Wrong Subreddit Bans Half Its Subscribers

I don't feel so good. But after a campaign by the subreddit's members to ban exactly half of all users, it looks like they finally got their wish.

Avengers: Infinity War has played an important part in social media over the last few months. Thanos is, ultimately, an exaggeration of all those conflicts: the most radical of methods, married to power and perseverance that puts even our favourite superheroes to shame.

In a move inspired by Thanos' mission in Avengers: Infinity War, Reddit is set to ban half of its users from the r/thanosdidnothingwrong subreddit on July 9th. On July 5 the subreddit was at 360,000 subscribers. Reddit engineers initially stymied the mod's requests to ban half of all members because such an undertaking "could potentially cause some headaches with our databases", partially because moderators can't be banned from their own subreddits.

Even the Russo Brothers themselves joined the subreddit just to see what'll happen tomorrow when The Snap happens. If that number keeps climbing, which suggests that it will, this could be one of the biggest (if not the biggest) bans in Reddit history.

Unfortunately, it was the Slovakian who was left dodging the majestic missiles that kept raining down on his half of the court. Keys, who was the US Open runner-up previous year , crashed out 7-5 5-7 6-4 to the Russian on a baking hot Court Three.

The idea is to randomize the entire process, but extra work will be needed in order to pull off the joke, as they are looking into bots to make the mass-banning possible.

In the film, Thanos defends his quest for the Infinity Gauntlet - and plan to wipe out half the universe - by citing finite resources and overpopulation; culling the herd, he argues, will bring prosperity to those who remain.

In the spirit of the Reddit ban, subscribers have been making and posting memes that follow the plot of the movie, including Thanos' journey to collect the stones.
