CNN's Don Lemon delivered a fiery monologue on Monday night as a direct response to President Donald Trump's Twitter attacks against him and National Basketball Association star LeBron James.

As Lemon cycled through the outrage Trump's attacks caused over the weekend, he reminded viewers of the president's attacks on "low IQ" Rep. Maxine Waters (D-CA) along with his birtherism against former President Barack Obama. Trump, watching a replay of the OH native's interview with CNN, derided the intelligence of one of America's most prominent African-American men in a tweet.

Trump tweeted on Friday - though he denied watching Lemon interview James about the opening of James' free school for at-risk youth in Akron, Ohio - that "Lebron James was just interviewed by the dumbest man on television, Don Lemon". This president traffics in racism and is fueled by bullying. He made Lebron look smart, which isn't easy to do.

Menendez tweeted out a thread that included references to Trump's disparaging remarks about Mexican immigrants during his campaign kickoff speech for the Republican presidential nomination and the president's repeated claim that California Democratic Rep. Maxine Waters, who is black, is "low IQ". Even Michael Jordan - who the world assumed Trump was referencing - praised LeBron for his character and charity work.

Her response to Trump's broadsides on James was illustrative to the path she has more frequently taken. He added that "This president constantly denigrates people of color and women".

The media personality concluded by encouraging "the decent and truly patriotic people who really love America and believe in its greatness" to stand up for the average citizens or immigrants being marginalized, "because clearly, Donald Trump won't".
